Q. How do I find out if your services are what I need?
A. Dunwoody Homecare will provide a free consultation to further discuss your needs. We will answer any questions that you may have at this time. This also gives us the opportunity to meet with you and match you with an appropriate companion. Dunwoody Homecare provides services to people in their private homes as well as in assisted living communities, retirement communities and hospitals.

Q. How do you screen the people you send to my home?
A. Dunwoody Homecare companions must complete a thorough interview process, submit two professional reference checks, pass an infectious disease screening, and submit a physical health form. In our comprehensive background check, companions are carefully screened for skills, competence, reliability and enthusiasm. Companions also complete an extensive orientation program. They are then assigned to a client, based on individual needs and preferences, and each companion is regularly reviewed for employees’ performance. All staff is supervised by a Registered Nurse.

Q. What is the background and training of Dunwoody Homecare Employees?
A. Dunwoody Homecare employs Certified Nursing Assistants as well as home health aids and private companions. Due to our affiliation with Dunwoody Village, continuous mandatory employee training is held throughout the year and our companions are responsible for adherence to all Dunwoody policies and procedures.

Q. How do I pay for these services?
A. Dunwoody Homecare will provide an invoice monthly. You can submit a check or pay directly from your account.

Q. Do I have to sign a contract for a certain amount of time should I need your services?
A. You have the freedom of canceling our services with as little as 24-hour’s notice. You also reserve the right to cancel services on a short-term basis or make changes in your schedule at any time.

Q. How are companions engaged?
A. Whether you need our services for a few hours per day, a few times a week or 24 hours per day, we will provide a compassionate, dependable companion. All services are available for flexible hours in accordance with your individual needs—be it care for a client or respite care when a family member needs a break. We develop a plan of care that works for you.

Q. Does Dunwoody Homecare provide medical care?
  A. We are a non-medical companion service and do not provide skilled nursing services.
